In a recent leisure shoot I decided to photograph the Buddha that we have in our living room. My wife picked it up at a market in downtown Tucson, and it is a hammered import from Tibet. Photographic properties are available after clicking on one of the images.
Buddha I

Buddha III

Buddha IV

Photography interests me. I can't explain what it is about capturing a moment in time that is so appealing, but alas, it is. Lately, I've found myself interested in shooting still lifes. This must be the post-panorama phase... I am still working on about seven panoramics to post here as well.
For my most recent visit to still life photgraphy, I decided to shoot my wife's NYC ceramic deli mug, and an apple. I couldn't quite get what I wanted out of the coffee cup, but the apple pictures turned out great. I've included a couple of samples below -- both taken in candle light with my Nikon D80.
Selective Color - F16 - 30 second Exposure

High Contrast - f30 - 45 second exposure

Greetings,
I've just returned from a four day trip to Seattle, Washington and surrounding areas. My wife and I spent our vacation time with my wonderful aunt and uncle and had a marvelous time.
I've posted trip pictures and details to my private family blog here:
Note: You will need to register and be approved by me before you can see it.
Thanks!
Seth

They say that dogs are (hu)man kind's best friend, and I'd have to agree. I spend a significant amount of time appreciating my dogs -- whether it's the laughs that they provide me with on a daily basis, or the affection they show for no good reason at all.
I often ponder how it came to pass that another creature on the planet was somehow suckered in to putting up with our idiosyncrasies and ultimately ended up being so devout. It truly is amazing.
They also say that there are two kinds of people, cat people and dog people. I think cats are great -- if you need something that feels nice when you stroke it. Frankly, I lose interest in cat's once they've passed the kitten stage.
